Vision and Fulfillment
The clients’ vision centered on creating a private sanctuary within their neighborhood. With homes in close proximity, privacy was a high priority, and they invested heavily in strategic screening with evergreens and layered plantings. They also had very specific preferences for a formal design aesthetic and carefully curated color palettes in their plantings.
Our team delivered this vision by integrating tall, dense evergreens for year-round screening, complemented by flowering shrubs and perennials that provide seasonal color without overwhelming the structured feel. The granite patios, cobblestone entrance, and stone-clad outdoor kitchen reinforce the formal design language while remaining warm and inviting. Every choice — from hardscape material to bloom color — was selected to support the clients’ desire for elegance, privacy, and timeless appeal.
Challenges and Solutions
Privacy in a suburban context
With neighboring homes in close range, the greatest design challenge was creating a sense of seclusion. We addressed this with extensive evergreen screening and multi-layer plantings that block views while remaining attractive year-round.
Formal but welcoming
Achieving the right balance between structure and livability required careful material and plant selection. Granite and cobblestone provided the formality, while hydrangea, butterfly bush, and pollinator-friendly perennials softened the edges and introduced color.
Color palette precision
The clients were highly specific about tones and textures in their landscape. We sourced plant materials with exacting attention to detail, ensuring that blooms and foliage complemented both the architecture and the overall garden design.
Wow Factor
The project’s wow factor lies in its ability to feel simultaneously grand and secluded. From the cobblestone drive that sets a formal tone upon arrival, to the broad granite pool terrace framed by layered greenery, the landscape projects a refined elegance. At the same time, the extensive plantings transform the yard into a lush, private haven. From inside the house, large windows frame views across the structured patio, pool, and gardens — making the outdoors an integral part of the home’s daily experience.
